A partnership between ESL and the Analog VLSI lab has been established to allow for strategic research collaboration in the field of RF & mm-Wave circuits and systems. The successful research is a result of:
- Interdisciplinary program involving DSP & communications for building complete ”Antenna-to-Bit” Radio solutions.
- State of the art infrastructure including CAD tools, wafer/package test facilities, and access to in house and external foundries.
- Timely, relevant education and student training programs.
Current research includes the development of:
- Configurable multi-band, multi-mode radio architectures for cognitive radios, 3G, 4G wireless and beyond
- Broadband CMOS RFIC and mm-Wave front-ends
- Programmable broadband PLLs and VCOs
- Mixed-signal baseband chains
- On-chip power management solutions
- Smart-power data converters
- BIST and Digital self calibration techniques for high-yield radio system solution
