Jin-Fa Lee received his BSEE from National Taiwan University in 1982, his MSEE in 1986 and his Ph.D. in 1989 both graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. Following that he worked as a senior research engineer for Ansoft, then completed a postdoc at the University of Illinois. He taught and earned tenure at Worcester Polytechnic Institute until joining the OSU faculty and ESL in 2000.
Dr. Lee’s primary research interests are in computational methods and computational geometry, including PDE methods and integral equation methods and numerical linear algebra. He has worked on 3D Finite Element Methods for electromagnetics. He pioneered the H(curl) conforming vector finite element methods and developed a commercial FEM package, HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator).
