ESL facilities from 1940s to present dayThe Department of Electrical and Computer and Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications for a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL). Over the course of its nearly 75-year history, ESL has been led by distinguished faculty and researchers, all recognized as world-wide experts in their area.  We welcome outstanding applicants in areas that align with or complement the research strengths of ESL.

Overview of ElectroScience Laboratory

ESL houses the largest academic chamber and the finest range in the world, operating from 400 mHz up to 100 Ghz,ESL is a premier laboratory at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and one of the largest radio frequency and optics research laboratories in the world. Since 1942, ESL has consistently maintained a national and international preeminence in electromagnetics, influencing radio research like no other institution in the world.

Faculty, research scientists, and students at ESL are involved in all aspects of wireless communications and electro-optics including remote sensing, radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits, terahertz, milimeter waves, optics, photonics and textile antennas.

ESL employs nearly 170 people including faculty, researchers and graduate students and encompasses more than 60,000 square feet of laboratory and work space, including state-of-the-art measurement and computational facilities.
