Dr. Asimina Kiourti Receives the Young Investigator Award

Dr. Asimina Kiourti, Senior Research Associate at the ElectroScience Laboratory, has won one of the top Young Investigator Awards at the IEEE EMBS BRAIN Grand Challanges conference on November 14, 2014. The Young Investigator Award recognizes outstanding young investigators working on innovative BRAIN research, with particular emphasis on engineering challenges to brain research through advancing innovative neurotechnologies, including but not limited to mapping neural circuits, understanding functional neural dynamics, controlling neural circuits and restoring function. Dr. Kiourti's paper was titled "Fully-Passive Wireless Implants for Unobtrusive Brain Signal Monitoring" and co-authored by Cedric Lee, Junseok Chae, and John L. Volakis.
