Khadir A. Griffith, ESL Alumnus, Receives Distinguished BEYA Award

Khadir A. Griffith, who obtained his Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the OSU in 2010, received one of the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) during an event held by the organization's annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference on February 5, 2015 in Washington D.C. Khadir and his accomplishment are recognized with the Science Spectrum Trailblazer award, given to men and women actively creating new paths for others in science, research, technology and development. 

Khadir was a graduate student at ESL until his graduation. He was advised by Dr. Inder Jiti Gupta and his masters thesis research focused on the "Performance Evaluation of RF Systems on Rotorcrafts". While he was a graduate student at ESL, he received the Best Paper Award at the Position Location and Navigation Symposium (PLANS) in 2008 with his paper titled "Effect of Mutual Coupling on the Performance of GPS AJ Antennas", which was also co-author by Dr. Gupta. Khadir currently works as Radar Engineer at the Applied Physics Laboratory at the John Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD.
