ESL Faculty Receives Multiple Awards

College of Engineering at the Ohio State University recognized several faculty from ESL for their innovative and breakthrough research by naming them for the Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award, Lumley Research Award and Innovators Award for the year 2016.

(1) Professor Chen is also one of the recipients of the Lumley Research Award for years 2015, 2010 and 2004.

(2) Professor Johnson is also one of the recipients of the Lumley Research Award for year 2013, 2008, 2003 and 1999.

(3) Professor Sertel is also one of the recipients of the Innovators Award for the year 2013 and Lumley Research Award for 2008.

Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award recognizes the interdisciplinary contributions of the CoE faculty and research staff. Awardees are selected on the basis of the interdisciplinary research accomplishments at The Ohio State University during the five-year period from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015. Funds for these awards are made possible by an endowment established by John H. and Mildred C. Lumley.

Lumley Research Award recognizes research contributions of the CoE faculty and research staff. Assistant or Associate professors, or Research Scientists at similar, early-to-mid level of their careers, are eligible for the award. Awardees are selected on the basis of their research accomplishments and productivity made during the five-year period prior to the nomination (2011-2015, inclusive), at the Ohio State University. Funds for these awards are made possible by an endowment established by John H. and Mildred C. Lumley.

Innovators Award recognizes an individual or a team of faculty and/or research scientists from the CoE who best demonstrate innovation in the development of a product and/or technology originating from the Ohio State research enterprise that can be used by the public at large.
