Congressman Latta Tours ESL

Congressman Bob Latta visited ElectroScience Laboratory on Thursday, August 25 and met with Professor John Volakis, the Director of ESL. They discussed advancements made in ESL in wireless communication, textile antennas, remote sensing and RF Technologies. Congresman's visit to ESL comes amid his meetings at the University to see research related to the Internet of Things (IoT).

According to Congresman's website the Internet of Things is technology in which physical objects and machines are embedded with Internet connectivity in order to allow them to process data and communicate in real-time with their surrounding environment. IoT can be used to gather information and improve efficiency and effectiveness in the manufacturing, agriculture, health care, and technology fields that can save money and resources.
