Annual ESL Awards Ceremony

The Annual ESL Awards Luncheon was held on Monday, December 5, 2017 at the Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center.  Students, staff, researchers and faculty received awards for their academic accomplishments, breaktrough research and their dedication to ESL. The 2017 ESL Annual Awards and the George Sinclair Award Committees announced this year's recipients and presented their certificates. This year's winners are:

Best Dissertation Award: J. Landon Garry for his dissertation entitled: “Imaging Methods for Passive Radar”, Advisor: Graeme Smith
Best Paper Award: Shah Chowdhury, Qussai M. Marashdeh, and Fernando l. Teixeira for their paper entitled: “Velocity Profiling of Multiphase Flows Using Capacitive Sensor Sensitivity Gradient”
Above and Beyond Award: Andrew O'Brien
Distinguished Service Award: Michelle Diefenbach
Student of the Year Award: Satheesh Bojja-Venkatakrishnan
George Sinclair Award: Inder "Jiti" Gupta for his excellence in research, and his exemplary leadership of the ElectroScience Laboratory including establishing an internationally recognized program in global navigation satellite sytems (GNSS).  As well as playing a major role in the establishment of the Compact Range, CERF, and COUNT consotria.
