ESL student featured by Spectrum News 1

Allyanna Rice

Allyanna Rice, PhD student in electrical and computer engineering, was recently featured by Spectrum News 1 for her research in wearable technology for astronauts.

She is working on a wearable device with Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Asimina Kiourti meant to keep astronauts fit for long journeys through space, mindful that long periods of zero gravity can be detrimental to health.

She was inspired last summer as she spent a part of her fellowship at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston.  She plans to be there again this summer researching, learning and working on more prototypes.
