Millimeter Wave Photonics
Instructor: Richard W. Ridgway, Director of ESL
Research Area: RF microwave, millimeter-wave and photonics
Duration: Half-day
Date/Time: Wednesday, August 5 | 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Radar communication systems are moving to the millimeter-wave portion of the spectrum as a means on improving resolution and data capacity. This short course will explore the convergence of millimeter-wave components, such as antennas, amplifiers and mixers; photonic components, such as laser diodes, electrooptic modulators and photodetectors; for applications including antenna remoting, low-phase-noise, millimeter-wave communications and interference rejection.
