Yesim Anter is the Facilities Coordinator for the ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL) at the Ohio State University. She joined ESL in February 2014 and her major responsibilities fall under the management and coordination of the building operations, asset management and use of experimental facilities. In addition, she coordinates facility tours, manages ESL website and plans and executes high-profile technical events such as CERF Annual Meeting and ESL Short Courses. In 2016 Yesim received ESL Distinguished Service Award that recognizes an ESL operations staff member for his/her demonstration of noteworthy service and his/her contributions to the develpment and growth of the ESL community.

Before joining ESL, Yesim served as the Project Coordinator of the Microphysics Laboratory (MPL) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) between June 2003 and January 2014. For more than a decade, Yesim was responsible for managing lab’s administrative and daily operations, including all aspects of fiscal and HR operations, maintenance, and staff supervision. She worked in consultation with the Director of the lab and had taken a leadership role in administrative issues and became a primary liaison for the laboratory. She had coordinated research and administrative activities, handled budgetary and accounting matters and assisted the Physics department in various projects. She planned and organized research symposia, workshops and seminars and had closely worked with the workshop planning committees. In 2013 Yesim received the Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) Award at UIC, an award that honors the contributions of individual staff members and their dedication in excellence.

Yesim received her bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1996 from Istanbul University in Istanbul, Turkey, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Marketing from UIC in 2003.
